Best neighbourhood to invest in?

A lot of factors are involved in choosing your location.

In many cities, getting close to nature means commuting to work for over an hour. Then there is the factor about lot-size: a larger lot near the river means more work.
There are definite benefits to moving closer to nature, but also drawbacks: it usually means that you have well-water instead of city water, septic field and holding tank instead of sewers, spotty internet and telephone connections, garbage pickup and other services.

I guess those concerns are less problematic when we are old and don't need to bother ourselves with work hours or maintenance business. I also thought that as 'nature-friendly' residences are getting more popular, the water hygiene system has improved so we don't need to worry.

It would be lovely to have enough room for the kids to run around in. I've always wanted a pool regardless of the work it entails. I think I'd enjoy the sound of nature instead of cars and trucks.

There seems to be good things and bad things about living in the city or closer to nature. I think it comes down to what you are willing to deal with.
